You are standing on a hill, its gentle slope leading to a huge valley, bordered by similar hills, and tall mountains on the far side. A river winds its way through the center, pooling in a small lake at your end of the valley. The valley floor is a patchwork of forest and open ground, with a few small buildings along the shore of the lake.

The valley is also filled with color. Equine creatures, small at this height, make their ways through the meadows and trees, frisking and playing in the summer sunlight. The range of their coloration and patterns is astounding, and you find yourself just standing and staring.

The drum of hooves very nearby brings you out of your reverie, and you are surprised to see that one of the creatures has come to stand right next to you. A bright silver cuff sparkles on a foreleg, a contrast to the bright reds and yellows of his coloration.

He peers down at you intently for a moment, black eyes deep and thoughtful, and then, to your relief, he smiles.

Welcome to Tekra'sa'kreenase'dyrysoky, whispers a voice in your mind, The Valley of Colors Dancing, in your tongue. I am Karys'lyrelle, one of the lead stallions currently residing here.

Taking another look down at the bright shapes, you believe that the Valley's name is also an apt description. Something about the creature, however, has puzzled you, and you look at up him. "Did you just - speak to me? In my head?"

Karys'lyrelle gives an indulgent smile. Yes. I am an Amanayr, and we speak in the language of minds. Our mouths were never made to work their ways around human words, though the language of the Sharians is ours to command.

"Ah," you respond, unable to think of anything else to say. So these are the fabled Amanayr, thought lost for centuries!

The Amanayr looks down at you again. I was told to expect you. I believe you were wishing to provide a home for one of the Soala's foals? Without waiting for an answer, Karys'lyrelle starts down the hill and into the Valley. Come. I shall take you to the Adoption Center.

Eagerly, you follow.
